Elder Ballard has suggested specific ways we can share the Gospel:
- Focus on our love for the Savior, our testimony of His eternal reality and our gratitude for all He has done for you. That love will be felt by all those around us.
- Pray for guidance that we may recognize opportunities to share the Gospel and be prepared to act on our impressions. Pray for the well-being of all others.
- Open our homes and our hearts to others. Let them feel our joy in the Gospel. Invite our friends to participate with us in any of the ways described below.
- Our responsibility is "to care, to share, to testify and to invite." It is not defined by whether or not people join the Church as a result of their contact with us.
- Each Fast Sunday pray for a specific person or opportunity to share the Gospel with a friend in one of the ways described below. It usually is helpful to set a date.
- Recognize the blessings Heavenly Father has promised us in and for this effort.
How To Invite
- Consider the following way to invite someone to learn about the Gospel: "I have been thinking about sharing something with you as a friend, but I want you to feel comfortable in saying "No." Would you be interested in learning our Church's beliefs about our relationship with God and the purpose of life which have given me real happiness?"
- Use religious terms and concepts, such as reference to your mission, what you did on Sunday, what you have been studying in the Scriptures, in your conversations with others to see if they open a door to a Gospel conversation. If they ask, you can share your feelings about the Gospel. If not, nothing is lost.
