Sample Agenda – Ward/Branch Council Meeting # 2
Opening Prayer
1) Feelings about the Plan and Personal Successes
Share feeling about the ward/branch plan
Share any personal successes in “inviting” activities since the last meeting
2) Review the Vision and Goals
Take another look at the draft of the Vision that was written last meeting. What do we like about it? Are there some things that should be changed? Is it something that will make us stretch, but is it something we can work toward? Is it easy to remember? Will we be able to rally around it?
Make sure the Goals are the ones we want to have for 2009. Are they achievable? Do we have the faith that we can reach these even though we aren’t yet sure how that will happen?
3) Creating Building Blocks for the Plan
Explain that it will take the involvement of each quorum and auxiliary to make the Vision a reality in 5 years and to reach the goals we have set for this year.
Invite Council members to share their proposed Building Blocks
Review the proposals – Are they ones that will contribute to accomplishment of the plan? Do they integrate naturally into existing activities instead of creating extra work?
4) Assignment to prepare for the next Meeting
Ask Council members to take the revised version of the Vision and Goals plus the feedback about their Building Block proposals back to their auxiliary or quorum presidency.
Discuss these items as a presidency and prepare ideas to bring to the next Council meeting.
Send copies of the organizations Building Blocks to the ward/branch clerk by ______ (at least a week prior to the next Council meeting which will occur on ________
