Sample Agenda – Ward/Branch Council Meeting # 3
Opening Prayer
1) Sharing Inviting Experiences
Share personal successes in “inviting” activities
Encourage everyone to personally become involved in “inviting”
2) Review the Vision and Goals
Review feedback from discussions with the stake presidency.
Read the current version of the Vision statement. Ask if there are any changes needed. Try to make these during the meeting so this document can be finalized today.
Take another look at the proposed Goals to see if everyone is comfortable with them. Make any necessary changes and finalize the ward/branch 2009 Goals today.
If the Council still isn’t settled on the final Vision or Goals it could be helpful to review parts of the “Mission of the Wilmington Ward” or other resources from the missionaryleaders.org web site.
3) Review Proposed Building Blocks
The Ward/Branch Clerk will distribute a copy of the proposed Building Blocks that each organization has sent to him prior to this meeting.
Review the proposals and make any needed changes. Remember to ask how they contribute to the plan and if they integrate naturally into existing activities instead of creating extra work.
4) Tracking Goals Each Month
Read President Monson’s statement at the top of page 10 in the “Leading a Great Ward Mission” booklet and briefly discuss the importance of tracking progress towards your goals.
The Ward/Branch Clerk will distribute a copy of the proposed tracking sheet to the 2009 Goals.
Take a minute to review how each month has an incremental goal. Make any adjustment that might be needed.
5) Assignment to prepare for the next Meeting
Ask Council members to take the revised Vision, Goals, Building Blocks and tracking sheet back to their auxiliary or quorum presidency.
Ask each Council member to commit to provide the necessary information to the Ward Clerk to keep the tracking sheet current.
